HOMECOMING ARTICLE
ASU HOMECOMING

Excitement is filling the streets of Albany because
Homecoming season is here. Homecoming is the best time of
the year. We see our fellow rams as well as family, alumni and friends.
Homecoming at the Unsinkable Albany State University starts
on Sunday, Oct. 19th through the end of Saturday, Oct. 25th.There are many activities that week
leading up to the homecoming football game on Saturday.
Starting Sunday, October 19th there will be a
Ramspiration Service in the ACAD Auditorium at 10 a.m. Then at 5 p.m. at the
Albany Municipal Auditorium the Coronation of Miss ASU will be held. Following
that there will be some tailgating and a fireworks show from 8 p.m. -11 p.m. at
the J.C. Reese Parking Lot.
Homecoming week will have great events like the Gospel
Explosion, the Homecoming Concert, and we can’t forget the Homecoming Step
Show. Students are excited; they are buying their homecoming
packages filled with tickets for the homecoming events.
On Saturday, the Homecoming Parade will start us off for a
fun filled day. The parade will be held on Pine Avenue at 9 a.m. There will be
floats, the marching band, as well as the homecoming court. There will be a lot
of vendors and tailgaters selling food, drinks and jewelry. Then, the Albany State Golden Rams football team will be playing
against the Clark Atlanta Panthers at 2 p.m., be there and support our rams. After
the game there will be a Charter Fellows Reception (Invitation Only) at 7 p.m.
at the Albany Area Arts Council.
Come out and enjoy yourself during homecoming week, you
won’t regret it.
